The Social Secretary is responsible for assisting the political team at the High Commission with day-to-day administrative and logistical assistance. The Social Secretary is also expected to support incoming and outgoing visits, and events, as well as assist with political and economic research.
The Social Secretary would be responsible for:
Providing administrative and logistical planning, coordination, and support for official visits and trips.
Organising meetings and events, including on-the-ground coordination and execution.
Liaising with government agencies, thinktanks, private companies, and vendors in both English and Hindi, in connection with the above.
Summarizing and/or translating Hindi documents/media reports into English.
Providing social media support including taking photographs and composing posts/video content for the High Commission’s social media accounts.
Conducting research from open sources on political and economic developments.
The ideal candidate would:
Have a postgraduate degree, preferably in international relations or a related field.
Have at least five years of experience in a relevant or related role.
Have a good command of spoken and written English and Hindi.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other media-related digital tools such as Canva, Inshot, or others.
Have an eye for detail, and a preference for precision and rigour in his/her work.
Be adaptable and able to think on his/her feet, a team player, and able to multitask.
A career at the Singapore High Commission will:
Be varied, challenging, and fast-paced.
Involve regular domestic travel within India and occasional international travel to Bhutan and Nepal for official trips, typically between one and three days long.
