Renunciation of Singapore Permanent Residency

Document required

1. Photocopy of your passport pages showing:

   • Name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue date, passport expiry date

   • All stamps relating to your Singapore PR

   • All Singapore Re-Entry Permit stamps. Please make sure you provide a copy of your expired Re-Entry Permit stamp.

2. REP Form 7, if any

3. Original Singapore Blue NRIC

4. Original Certificate of Identity, if you were issued one

5. Original REP card, if you were issued one

6. Malaysian Restricted Passport, if you were issued one

7. A Letter addressed to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) stating:

   • That your SPR / REP had expired; indicate the expiration date;

   • Your request for a letter stating that you are no longer a PR of Singapore;

   • Include your complete contact details: address, phone and office numbers, and email address, for ease of communication.

8. Any other relevant documents issued to you by the Singapore Government agencies such as ICA, Ministry of Defence, Minstry of Manpower, etc.
   
   For male applicants below 21 years old, please contact the Singapore High Commission to obtain the following forms in addition to items (1) to (7):

10. Sponsor’s Acknowledgement Letter

Processing fee

No charge.

Notes

1. Processing time is approximately 8 to 10 weeks from the date of receipt of the complete application package as all renunciation applications are processed by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority in Singapore.

2. When the renunciation process is finalized, a letter of acknowledgement to confirm your renunciation will be issued to you through the Singapore High Commission.

3. Please provide the Singapore High Commission with your updated / preferred mailing address.
